Argyll and Bute leads the way with Gaelic Gathering event

“Gaelic has deep roots here in Argyll and Bute through our place names, our music and tradition, it has shaped the identity of our communities and continues to enrich daily life across the region.”
These were the words from Councillor Luna Martin speaking from the fifth Gaelic Gathering organised by Argyll and Bute Council and held at the Corran Halls, Oban.

Protect pollinators, protect the environment

During May and June, designated protected green spaces, managed by the Council, throughout Argyll and Bute will be allowed to bloom so that pollinators can thrive and benefit our environment.

Argyll and Bute Supporting Communities Fund now open for applications

Community groups across Argyll and Bute can now apply for funding that has already supported more than 850 local projects since it launched.
Argyll and Bute Council’s Supporting Communities Fund 2026/27 is now open, offering grants of up to £1,500 to not-for-profit organisations working to make a difference in their communities.
