Argyll and Bute Council has granted the Royal Regiment of Scotland the Freedom of Argyll and Bute in recognition of their service to their country and to the local area.

The Here To Hear You series of community conversations is taking place all over Argyll and Bute – and it’s coming to the isle of Islay on Wednesday 1 October and the isle of Jura on Thursday 2 October.

On Saturday 20 September Lochgilphead will play host to the Royal Regiment of Scotland as they receive the Freedom of Argyll and Bute.

£1.1 million of funding has been allocated to progress a detailed business case that is needed to produce recommended options, developed budget estimate and outline delivery programme for the permanent repair of the A816 at Ardfern.

The Council’s Environment, Development and Infrastructure committee today (11 September) approved this year’s Winter Service plan which prioritises how Argyll and Bute will be kept open for business during spells of cold weather.
