The Leader of Argyll and Bute Council is to invite the Scottish Government’s Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care to a meeting to discuss targeted support for the challenges the area’s health and social care services face.
Island residents in Argyll and Bute who receive a Council Tax reduction may qualify for help with electricity costs this winter, thanks to the Scottish Government’s Island Cost of Crisis Emergency Fund.
Argyll and Bute Council at its meeting on 26 November showed its commitment to a fairer, more inclusive, and resilient local economy by agreeing to sign a Community Wealth Building Charter.
“People want council services. We want to deliver council services. But council services need funding. We will continue to campaign for fair funding for Argyll and Bute’s council services. At the same time though we have to deal with the harsh reality facing the council of a £15 million budget gap.”
Argyll and Bute Council is taking significant steps to tackle the housing emergency, focusing on increasing affordable housing supply and supporting those most in need.
