I’ve been working in Registration for 10 years, and it’s still one of my favourite parts of the job — which is handy, because I’ve conducted ceremonies for friends, family, and plenty of lovely couples who now know me better than some of my neighbours. One of the best parts is getting to build a relationship in the run-up to the big day and being the calm voice when the pre-ceremony nerves decide to make an appearance.
I also love a good adventure. If your idea of a perfect ceremony involves escaping into the hills, wandering into the woods, or heading somewhere so scenic that even the midges stop to admire the view — I’m already lacing up my boots. I’m always excited to bring unique ceremony ideas to life, even the wonderfully quirky ones. Think of it as a mystery tour, but with vows at the end.
Helping couples turn their ceremony dreams into genuine, joy-filled memories is what makes this role so special. Being a Registrar means no two days are ever the same — and honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way.
