**A year of love in Argyll and Bute!**

The latest figures from National Records of Scotland are in, and they show just how many couples chose Argyll and Bute to celebrate their love in 2025.

880 marriages took place across Argyll and Bute

492 civil marriages were conducted by our registrars

388 religious or belief marriages were registered

37 civil partnerships were registered

That means more than **half of all marriages in Argyll and Bute were civil ceremonies conducted by our registration teams** — in registration offices, at beautiful venues and in some of the most spectacular locations across the area.

From intimate ceremonies with just a handful of guests to celebrations surrounded by family and friends, every couple has their own story, and it’s a privilege for our registrars to be part of so many of them.

And with Argyll and Bute offering everything from lochside and woodland settings to historic buildings, castles and beautiful outdoor locations, it’s easy to see why so many couples choose to say “I do” in Argyll and Bute.

Here’s to everyone who celebrated their marriage or civil partnership in Argyll and Bute in 2025 and to all the couples whose special day is still to come.
