“I have been working in Local Authority since 1991 and moved to the registration service in 2010. I love coming to work; every day is a new day, it is a wonderful job and I feel very privileged. Registration gives you the chance to work with people, friends, neighbours and colleagues, from helping couples create their ceremony to the day its self, and no two ceremonies are the same. Argyll and Bute has some of the most beautiful scenery Scotland has to offer, we are fortunate to have amazing Registrars conducting ceremonies in our venues, beaches, castles, and outdoors which attracts couples from all over the world. Working in registration is like working with your family but more fun!”
Thank you to Lorna who helped us celebrate our special day. We were so lucky to be the first couple to be married at Kilmory castle. And all we can say is it’s a beautiful room/venue to host a small wedding. We loved all the characteristic features, the staircase, the gardens and just the general beauty of the room. All our family and friends loved it too! And we had loads of compliments about the room.
Lorna couldn’t be more helpful all the way through. From the last minute booking of the wedding 12 weeks before the day, to the morning of. Nothing was too much for her. Answering any questions we had, calming those last minute nerves. And just making it a friendly, personal ceremony. Nothing was too much bother for her. She was brilliant.

From the moment we met her, she made us feel completely at ease and kept us all calm and relaxed throughout. She was so lovely, professional and genuinely caring, and she created such a beautiful atmosphere for what was such an important moment for our family.
