‘Being a registrar in Argyll and Bute is more than just a job—it’s a true honour. Since 1997, I’ve had the privilege of helping couples celebrate one of the most important days of their lives. Every ceremony is unique, and to know I’ve played a small part in creating lasting memories for so many families is incredibly special. I’ve met countless wonderful couples over the years—some even pop in to say hello when they’re back in Campbeltown on holiday, which always makes my day.
I’m obsessed with all things weddings and always on the lookout for fresh, creative trends—my current favourite is the flower boys! They’re stealing the show!
I’m a proud mum to two grown-up daughters and happily married. We’ve had dogs in our lives over the years, and they’ve always brought so much joy. That’s why dogs are more than welcome at my ceremonies—they’re family too. When I’m not officiating weddings, I love to spend time baking and sharing homemade treats with friends and family.
Over the years, I’ve seen so many positive changes in the role—from outdoor ceremonies and same-sex marriages to the option of remote registrations, which has made life so much easier for many families. Every step forward reflects the joy and inclusivity that this job is all about. And after all these years, I still love every minute.’
