What the project does
The Landlord‑to‑Landlord Sales Project is a matchmaking service for:
- Private landlords looking to sell their rented property, or
- Current or prospective private landlords looking to purchase a property in the private rented sector.
By connecting sellers and prospective buyers, the project aims to:
- Help tenants remain in their home when a landlord needs to sell the property.
- Support landlords to avoid eviction processes prior to placing the property for sale.
- Preserve private rented sector housing options during the ongoing Housing Emergency.
How it works
- Complete a registration form
Interested parties can register as either a seller or a buyer by completing a short form.
The forms collect relevant information such as property type, size, condition, budget and preferred locations to assist with the matching process. - We enter your details into our secure database
The Private Sector Settlement Officer maintains a database of interested parties and identifies suitable matches. - We put both parties in contact
Where preferences align, the Officer will make an introduction.
From that point onwards, all discussions, negotiations and legal arrangements are carried out independently by the parties involved.

If you are interested in taking part in the project, you can complete the appropriate online application form below or download a copy of the relevant form in Word format. You should email a copy of the completed form to privatelandlordsupport@argyll-bute.gov.uk .
