Small Business Grants - application process

How to apply for Small Business Grants

The grant application process is as follows:

  1. You submit a Business Funding Enquiry Form Funding for Business | Argyll and Bute Council. You only need to do this once.
  2. The Council’s Business Gateway service will contact you to discuss the information you have provided and your suitability for a Small Business Grant. You will be sent an application form for the relevant type of grant if you appear to meet the criteria.
  3. You submit the fully completed application form with the required supporting documents.
  4. If you have not already done so, you meet (by phone or video) with a business adviser from Argyll and Bute Council’s Business Gateway service to discuss your application
  5. If approved, you will be issued with an offer letter confirming the items that can be supported by the grant and the maximum value of the grant awarded to you.
  6. After you have accepted your offer of grant, you can purchase your approved items then claim your grant by submitting a claim form with proof of expenditure for each item (invoices and bank statement showing payment).
