Contact us on WhatsApp

We're pleased to introduce WhatsApp as a new way to get in touch with our Customer Service Centre, making it even easier to contact us wherever you are.

Whether you have a question, need information, or want to report an issue, simply send us a message and we'll do our best to help.

How it works

To start a conversation, simply send a WhatsApp message to 07860064682 or scan the QR code.

When you send us a WhatsApp message, you'll first be greeted by our Virtual Assistant. It will help guide you to the information you need by providing links to our most frequently requested services, online forms and guidance on the Council website.

If your enquiry needs further assistance, you'll be connected to one of our Customer Service Advisors.

Messages received during our opening hours of Monday to Friday 9am-5pm will be responded to as quickly as possible. While we aim to reply within two hours, response times may vary depending on demand.

Messages received outside our opening hours will be answered on the next working day.

What can I contact you about?

You can use WhatsApp for many general enquiries and Council services, including:

  • Reporting issues such as missed bin collections
  • Requesting information about Council services
  • Asking about benefits, Council Tax and other customer enquiries
  • Finding the right service or reporting a problem
  • Receiving links to online forms and information

If your enquiry requires more detailed information or another service is better suited to help, we'll direct you to the appropriate online form or arrange for someone to contact you.

Before you message us

To help us deal with your enquiry as quickly as possible, please include any relevant information, such as your address or postcode if your enquiry relates to a specific property.

Please do not send sensitive or confidential personal information via WhatsApp, such as bank details or special category personal information. If we need to discuss confidential matters with you, we'll arrange to contact you by telephone or ask you to use a more secure method of communication.

For emergencies or situations requiring an immediate response, please do not use WhatsApp. Instead, contact the relevant emergency service or telephone the Council.

Important information

  • Conversations remain active for up to 24 hours after your last message. If more than 24 hours have passed, simply send us a new WhatsApp message to start a new conversation.
  • All WhatsApp conversations are handled securely and are recorded in line with the Council's records management and privacy policies.
  • Our service is available through our verified WhatsApp account.

Help us improve

After your conversation, you may be invited to complete a short customer satisfaction survey. We'd really appreciate your feedback, as it helps us continue to improve our services.
