Landlord Forums and Newsletters

As part of our commitment to support and preserve the private sector housing market in Argyll and Bute, we are supporting the provision of quarterly Private Landlord Newsletters and regular Private Landlord Forums.

Upcoming Events

Landlord Accreditation Scotland is delighted to offer landlords registered with Argyll and Bute Council the opportunity to attend an online webinar on Tuesday 26th May 2026 between 10am-11am.

This webinar covers the topic of increasing rents and dealing with other changes that may occur during a tenancy. It will examine when and how to increase rent, correct notice periods and formats, completing paperwork, avoiding pitfalls, as well as changes to landlord/tenant/guarantor, deposits and tenants.

LAS will guide you through legal requirements, documentation, and best practice.

This course is free for landlords registered with Argyll & Bute Council. However, places are limited so please book now to secure your place.

Quarterly Private Landlord Newsletters

You can sign up to our quarterly private landlord newsletters via the Council’s Keep in the Loop service, by signing up and ensuring you select the Private Landlord Newsletter option. 

A copy of the newsletters will also be hosted on this web page. 

Private Landlord Forums

We will be hosting regular Private Landlord Forums, based on what you have told us you want to hear about. These will be advertised via the regular newsletters detailed above and will also be recorded and made available via this web page for anyone who cannot attend. 

Landlord Webinar – 10 March 2026

SafeDeposits Scotland hosted a webinar on 10th March 2026,  focusing on what deposit schemes are, how to use them, the repayment process, how to navigate disputes (including through the Alternative Dispute Resolution process), and how to complete inventories and check-out inspection reports.

Landlord Forum – 23rd February 2026

This Forum focused on Property Maintenance and Repairs, Landlord Registration, and Welfare Rights and Benefits. You can find recordings of the presentations from this Forum below, as well as answers to questions asked during the meeting.
