Dunoon Grammar School is a co-educational non-denominational comprehensive school with a roll of approximately 900 pupils
The school has the very latest facilities and is built for education in the 21st Century. These include state of the art classrooms including computer rooms, science labs, technical and home economics rooms with the most modern facilities. The sports facilities are first class and comprise a large games hall, 2 gymnasiums, a fitness suite and 2 all weather pitches, serviced by floodlights.
The school has a positive, inclusive, caring ethos. It is designated to make provision for pupils with significant additional support needs arising from a range of factors. Pupils with additional support needs are taught alongside their peers in mainstream classes and, where appropriate, in a specially designed learning centre which is an integral part of the school.
We see Dunoon Grammar School as a school at the heart of our community where we are striving together to do our best with pride.
To provide the best learning experiences for all our learners, using expertise from within and outwith the school.
To have the highest expectations of all within our learning community so that each individual experiences success and reaches her/his full potential
To provide support systems which nurture the personal growth of each individual within our school community
To develop active citizens and responsible stewards of our world
All the facilities of the building are available for community purposes and letting can be arranged through the Area Community Education Officer.
HM Inspectorate of Education (HMIE) inspects and reports on the quality of education in pre-school centres, primary schools, secondary schools, special schools, community learning and development services, colleges, and residential educational provision.
You can read and download any inspection reports for this school, and find out more about the inspection process, on the Education Scotland website.
