Strategic Events and Festivals Fund

About the fund

Round eight of Argyll and Bute Council’s Strategic Events and Festivals Fund is now closed for applications. 

The fund is open to not-for-profit organisations delivering an event or festival of strategic importance in Argyll and Bute between 1st April 2026 and 31st March 2027.  

The fund aims to support events and festivals to add value and increase their resilience, sustainability and growth.

The deadline for applications was midday Monday 17th November 2025.

Applications can be made for up to 20% of the total cost of the event/festival.  The total funding available is £90,000.  Please note that there will be one call for applications for this period.

Please note that the amount of funding available is reduced from previous years.

To maximise the limited budget available and demonstrate best value, requests should be made for the minimum amount needed to deliver the event/festival.  It is expected that most applicants will seek between £2,500 and £5,000.

The maximum amount that can be applied for is £30,000. 

Applications for over £5,000 must provide substantial justification and evidence to demonstrate the need for the funding.  Further guidance for applications requesting £5,000 - £30,000 is available on the overview and eligibility page.
