From 1 July 2026, Circles Network will become the commissioned provider for core adult advocacy services across Argyll and Bute Health and Social Care Partnership.
They will replace Lomond and Argyll Advocacy Services, following a formal commissioning and procurement process to ensure services meet current and future needs.
What this means for people who use advocacy services
- Current service users will continue to receive advocacy support.
- Circles Network and Lomond and Argyll Advocacy Services will work together to ensure a smooth and safe transition, with minimal disruption.
- Individuals will be contacted directly about their ongoing support where appropriate.
- Rights to independent advocacy remain unchanged.
- Individuals receiving drug and alcohol advocacy support will continue to be supported by Lomond and Argyll Advocacy Services.
What this means for professionals and partners
- From 1 July 2026, all new referrals for core advocacy should be directed to Circles Network.
- Circles Network will deliver advocacy in line with statutory duties, including:
- Mental Health (Care and Treatment) (Scotland) Act
- Adults with Incapacity (Scotland) Act
- Adult Support and Protection (Scotland) Act
Transition arrangements
To support continuity, the following arrangements are in place:
- Joint working between both providers throughout June 2026
- Secure transfer of relevant information, with consent and in line with data protection requirements
- Clear communication with individuals, families and professionals
While every effort is being made to ensure a smooth transition, there may be a short gap in service provision during this period to maintain consistency and continuity of advocacy relationships.
We are working closely with both organisations to minimise disruption, however some delays in accessing advocacy support may occur.
We apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.
