Free festive off-street parking for Argyll and Bute

To help support local businesses and encourage local spending, all council off-street pay and display parking will be free across Argyll and Bute in the run up to Christmas from 11th to 24th December inclusive.

Cost of living funding for island communities

A range of measures will help support island communities as the cost of living crisis continues. Financial support for community food organisations, access to free school meals and help to buy essential supplies and services all feature, as part of a £141,000 fund.

Kilmelford bridge - updated 1 November

Argyll and Bute Council will lift weight restrictions on Kilmelford Bridge to vehicles weighing up 44 tonnes (the maximum weight allowed on UK roads) at 4pm on Thursday, subject to final concrete tests.

Argyll and Bute Council continues to move at pace to respond to the impacts of recent severe weather on communities and infrastructure across the area. At the same time as taking the actions needed now, the local authority is also already planning ahead for the future beyond the storms and towards securing support for the area’s long term success.
