The Argyll and Bute Harbour Board on Friday (9 October) considered plans for a new annual performance report covering the Council's portfolio of piers, harbours and marine facilities.
Officers have developed a draft reporting framework to provide a clearer overview of the Council's marine assets, with proposed reporting themes including operational activity, financial performance, asset management, safety and compliance, environmental performance, and strategic development.
The proposed annual report will be presented to the Harbour Board each March and will be developed over time to include benchmarking, trend analysis and key performance indicators.
Councillor Ross Moreland, Chair of the Argyll and Bute Harbour Board, said: "Our marine infrastructure plays a vital role in supporting communities, businesses and visitors across Argyll and Bute. The introduction of annual performance reporting will help strengthen oversight of our marine assets and provide valuable information to support future planning and investment."
Following feedback from Board members, officers will continue to refine the reporting framework, develop data collection processes and align reporting with existing asset management and financial reporting arrangements.
