Argyll and Bute Supporting Communities Fund now open for applications

Community groups across Argyll and Bute can now apply for funding that has already supported more than 850 local projects since it launched.

Argyll and Bute Council’s Supporting Communities Fund 2026/27 is now open, offering grants of up to £1,500 to not-for-profit organisations working to make a difference in their communities.

From community orchestras to environmental projects, community events, creative wellbeing programmes and resilience planning, the fund continues to help groups turn ideas into positive action.

The fund opens for applications on Monday 11 May and closes on Sunday 5 July 2026. For more information and to apply visit https://www.argyll-bute.gov.uk/my-community/communities-and-partnerships/supporting-communities-fund

Funding is available for projects that support:

  • Fairer Communities – tackling poverty and widening access to opportunities
  • Resilient Communities – building local capacity and responding to community needs
  • Greener, Cleaner Communities – environmental projects and climate action
  • Creative Communities – using creativity to support health and wellbeing

Councillor William Sinclair, Policy Lead for Community Planning:
“Over the years, this fund has supported hundreds of inspiring community-led projects right across Argyll and Bute. From practical support for families to creative programmes that bring people together, it continues to make a real difference.

We’re incredibly lucky to have dedicated residents who run a wide range of groups, often working voluntarily for the good of their community. This funding could make all the difference, so I’d encourage groups of all sizes to consider applying.”
