The candidates seeking election to represent the Argyll and Bute Constituency in the Scottish Parliament have now been confirmed with the publication of the Notice of Poll on Wednesday 1st April 2026.
The constituency candidates are listed below in alphabetical order by surname:

- Amanda Hampsey (Reform UK)
- Tommy Macpherson (Independent)
- Jenni Minto (Scottish National Party)
- Alan Reid (Scottish Liberal Democrats)
- Mick Rice (Independent)
- Peter Wallace (Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party)

Please note that voters living in the Helensburgh and Lomond area are part of the Dumbarton constituency and West of Scotland region.

If you want to have your say in who represents the area at the Scottish Parliament, you must first be registered to vote. If you’re not registered yet, you still have time to do so – it only takes a few minutes and you can do it online. For this election, you need to be registered by Monday 20 April 2026.
Depending on your voting choices, there are other deadlines to be aware of. Once you’re registered, you can choose how you vote as well as who you vote for. You can vote in person at a polling station, by post or by proxy (where someone casts your vote on your behalf). Deadlines to apply for postal or proxy votes are noted below:
Apply for postal votes by 5pm on Tuesday 21 April 2026.
Apply for proxy votes by 5pm on Tuesday 28 April 2026.
It’s always best to register or to apply for postal or proxy votes as early as possible regardless of deadlines.
