Councillor Audrey Forrest, Argyll and Bute Council’s Policy Lead for Education congratulates pupils who have received exam results today.
“Well done to everyone in Argyll and Bute who received their exam results today. I know how hard you have worked over the last year. You should be very proud of yourselves, and have done exceptionally well to achieve what you have.
Early indications show that our National 4 pass rate remains at 100%, for the 10th consecutive year with an increase in pass marks across National 5 and Highers. We are currently reviewing the national picture and aim to share a full analysis of Argyll and Bute’s position later today.
We are hugely ambitious for our young people and, as reflected in our Education Strategy we want pupils to achieve and thrive. This year, that ambition has resulted in more pupils put forward for SQA qualifications than previous years with an increase in pass marks.
Exam results are just one part of the journey. It’s important to remember there are many different options for positive post-school destinations, including apprenticeships and a range of qualification in school, college and university. Please do not feel disappointed if you didn’t receive the results you wanted. There is plenty of help and support available to you. If you’re unsure about your next step, or would like to talk to someone about your results, please get in touch with your school.”
Possible disruptions to Royal Mail deliveries due to Storm Floris
There may be localised delays to exam result deliveries affecting some remote areas of Argyll and Bute. SQA is not anticipating any impact on the MySQA text and email service.
If you have not received your exam results via the post, you can submit an enquiry to the SQA Website and this will be responded to by their team after 12 noon.
