Creating a destination that attracts more visitors and offers the community additional facilities are just some of the comments received from community groups and young people at the recent Helensburgh Waterfront community engagement sessions.
Argyll and Bute Council organised a series of workshops and drop-in events to look at general development proposals for the Waterfront and to ask businesses and community groups what would work well for the site.
Independent consultants will now gather all feedback to help progress plans to the next stage, including appointing a preferred bidder for the site.
There is no planning application at this stage. Any application for the Waterfront will include a formal public consultation process.

“Thanks to everyone who came along to the sessions to give us your thoughts on what would work well for the Waterfront. We had a great mix of different interest groups and local businesses providing valuable feedback.
We’re still at the very early stages of this project and there is a lot of work we need to carry out before we even get to the planning application stage.
It’s important right now to consider all the feedback we have and consider options for enhancing a fantastic destination that complements the town centre, creates opportunities for communities and helps supports the local economy.”
