Shopfront Improvement Grant – now open

Are you a business owner looking to undertake repairs to your shopfront? The Shopfront Improvement Grant is helping to transform businesses across Argyll and Bute, attracting more people and investment to the area.

The Shopfront Improvement Grant is now available to smaller settlements and rural retail businesses. Grants can help with painting, joinery and masonry work.

Using Scottish Government Place Based Investment Funding, the grant aims to support place policy ambitions such as town centre revitalisation.

How to apply

You can find more information including criteria and an application form on the Council website /shopfront-improvement-scheme-20212022.

Councillor Robin Currie, Policy Lead, Economy and Rural growth:

“The Shopfront Improvement Scheme has helped businesses transform their shopfronts and increased footfall as a direct result. We have seen fantastic success stories of vacant shops reopening, businesses getting a new lease of life and communities and visitors shopping local. I’m particularly pleased that these grants are now available to smaller settlements and rural retail businesses.

If you are thinking about repairs to your own shopfront and need some additional help, I would encourage you to apply for the grant as soon as possible.”
