Argyll and Bute Council’s climate change event has been hailed a success.
The family friendly event was held in the Helensburgh and Lomond Civic Centre on Saturday and enabled people to discover how they can become more climate friendly in their everyday lives.
Visitors had the chance to try out an electric bike; find out how ways to make their home more energy efficient; and see the council’s wide range of electric vehicles.
Those in attendance were also given an insight into what happens to waste and recycling in Argyll and Bute.
It was the efforts of the children and young people taking part in a climate change poster competition that really stole the show though.
Council Leader Robin Currie said: “The event was extremely encouraging and the quality of the art competition entries were incredible. They really demonstrated the importance that our children and young people place on climate change, and the commitment they have to helping reverse global warming for future generations.
“We are continuing to work alongside our partners to help Argyll and Bute become the UK’s first Net Zero region and I feel very positive that together we can achieve this.”
