Ardencraig Gardens - updated

We’ve heard concerns that Ardencraig Gardens, on Bute, will close. Ardencraig Gardens themselves will remain open, the only difference will be that the flowers will be sourced externally.

The tearoom has been commercially leased and has been vacant for some time. If anyone is interested in taking on the lease, we would like to hear from them. The aviary and display glasshouses are being retained as these are integral parts of the gardens.

The areas of polytunnels, where the bedding plants are grown, will be repurposed once we have finished our planting for this year. Once these are available, they will be advertised through our normal channels.

Businesses will be able to tender for the opportunity to supply plants when we procure these, for the whole of Argyll and Bute, creating more opportunities to support jobs. We provide information on our website for people who want to do business with the council: Selling to the Council (argyll-bute.gov.uk).
