EUROs extended play and closing times

The Scottish Government has revised guidance for the hospitality sector during the knockout stages of Euro 2020.

There is the potential for Euro matches, in the knockout stages, to reach beyond current closing times in Level 2 (22:30) and Level 1 (23:00) due to extra time and penalties. It has been agreed, as a temporary measure between 26 June and 11 July, that premises may extend closing time up to 23:30 where required to facilitate viewing of the whole game and safe departure of patrons thereafter.

Please note:

  1. This relaxation to closing times affects only those premises showing Euro 2020
  2. There is no other relaxation to restrictions for Euro 2020 in Level 1 and Level 2
  3. This relaxation only comes into effect where a game is being played into extra time (and to penalties if it goes that far)
  4. Premises must close at the conclusion of the match or 23:30, whichever is earlier.
