The Bute and Cowal Area Community Planning Group is seeking new members.
The group, which forms a sub group of the Argyll and Bute Community Planning Partnership, is made up of public, third and private sector members, as well as community organisations and partnerships that have an interest in the future of Bute and Cowal.
The role of the Bute and Cowal Area Community Planning Group is to:
-
Oversee the implementation of the Area Community Planning Action Plan for Bute and Cowal;
-
Encourage effective working across community planning partners at an area level;
-
Act as a conduit to ensure that local priorities are met and local issues addressed
Chair of the Bute and Cowal Community Planning Group, Cathleen Russell, said: “I joined the group a couple of years age and over that time I have developed a greater understanding of the many issues that our emergency services have to cope with and they have my full admiration.
“Through various presentations I’ve discovered what Mount Stuart future plans are, the aspirations of Bute BID, the plans for the Botanical Gardens and how the Loch Lomond and Cowal Way is contributing to the economy of Cowal. In the coming years we will help support the Dunoon Project and hear about the Strachur Hub and countless other initiatives.
“The Area Community Planning Group supports our local communities to help each other, learning from each other to make a real a difference. This is best evidenced by the way all our communities, organisations and individuals continue to work together to respond to the ongoing Covid pandemic. Come and join this group and help us make a positive difference’.
The local area Community Planning Group meetings provide community groups with a useful platform to showcase and raise awareness of the work they are doing, and enable lasting working relationships to be built with community planning partners around the table.
