T is for Teaching

We employ 845 full time equivalent primary and secondary teachers throughout our schools to ensure our children and young people are equipped to achieve success in life.

Paul Gallanagh is just one of those teachers who is dedicated to going the extra mile to help deliver the council’s vision that together we will realise ambition, excellence and equality for all.

Paul is the Principal Teacher of Business and Computing at Dunoon Grammar School and has led pupils to win a huge array of awards in recent years, as well as national recognition from industry leaders.

He said: “I am extremely lucky to teach such talented, hard-working and creative young people. I truly love my job. I love knowing that I’m helping to make a difference to young people’s lives, setting them on the right road to a positive destination.”

Paul, who was declared Apps for Good’s ‘UK Educator of the Year’ last year, added: “The pupils never cease to amaze me with the creative ideas they generate on this rich learning experience. They are a credit to the school and the community of Dunoon and I am honoured to be a part of that."
