Winter roads

Action Plan for Tuesday 10th December 2019

A stormy afternoon with very strong winds and spells of heavy and sometimes persistent rain. Gale force southerly winds.

Showers will last throughout the night and will often be heavy and widespread. These may turn wintry in higher ground, but lowland snow is not expected. Winds gradually easing.

Scattered showers with some sunny spells will continue throughout the day and into the night. This will be heavy at times, and in higher ground will bring some snow accumulation. Breezy.

Road conditions:

A chilly night with RSTs dropping below zero in the colder areas later on . Confidence is high on it being a cold night.

Treatment Plan - High Level Patrols in Cowal and Lorn east only , risk of sleet/snow at high level only.
