Image A grant of up to £1,000 is available for full-time businesses (35+ hours per week) and up to £500 for part-time businesses (16-34 hours per week). The grant is paid on approval of your application and supporting evidence. The aim of this grant is to help new businesses to establish and grow, by assisting with start-up costs. You must be able to demonstrate a need for the grant and specify how it will be used. Revenue and capital costs are eligible on a discretionary basis, including machinery, tools and equipment, marketing, and website development. The grant cannot be used towards wage subsidy, statutory costs, debt repayment, working capital (including the purchase of stock or materials), purchase of an existing business, routine maintenance and property/land purchase or development. The grant application process is as follows: You submit a fully-completed application form with the required supporting documents. You meet (by phone or video) with a business adviser from Argyll and Bute Council’s Business Gateway to discuss your application. If approved, you will be issued with a grant.
