Community Contacts - Self Directed Support (SDS)

Do you, a friend, relative or child need support to live well? Community Contacts supports people of all ages across Argyll and Bute.

Would you -

  • Welcome someone to talk to for free impartial, independent advice?
  • Like to know what Self-Directed Support (SDS) is and how it might help?
  • Benefit from exploring your social care support options and rights?
  • Appreciate assistance to plan for living life as well as possible?

We can -

  • Be alongside you as you establish if SDS is right for you.
  • Offer you practical support and advice as you set up and start living your life with care support.
  • Help you to speak up about what matters to you, and challenge decisions about SDS when needed.
  • Support you to think about your responsibilities and to set up as an employer of your own personal assistants when you choose a direct payment.
  • Put you in touch with other organisations that might be of interest and help to you.
  • Help you think about alternatives and additions to living life with SDS.
