What is the Public Access Portal?

The Public Access Portal is an online service provided by Argyll and Bute Council to allow members of the public to search for details relating to Planning Applications, Appeals and Enforcements.

What to do next

If you want a complete guide on how to use the Public Access Portal, then please refer to the  Public Access User Guide. Alternatively, you can view a selection of short videos that explain how to use the key features of the system.

How to Register for an Account

Some features of the Public Access Portal are only available once you’ve logged into the system. If you want to comment on an application, save searches or get notification then you’ll need to sign up for a free account. (See page 6 of the user manual for more details)

How to Comment on an Application

If you wish to express your support or opposition to an application, then you can add a comment to the application which will be collected by the council planning team and used in consideration when a decision is made.

How to Get the Weekly List

The Weekly/Monthly List is a list of all validated or decided applications in a particular timeframe. You can specify which week or month you are interested in as well as a particular community council or ward. (See page 19 of the user manual for more details)

How to Track Applications

If there is a particular application that you want to keep an eye on, then you can track the application and will be notified via email when it’s status changes. Alternatively, you can get notifications of new applications in a particular area, (See page 46 of the user manual for more details)
