During 2020/21, Argyll and Bute Council has successfully secured funding to deliver a suite of projects designed to support the economic recovery of its town centres. Funding has been secured from the Scottish Government, through the Placed-Based Investment Programme, Town Centre Fund, and from Scotland’s Towns Partnership.
The projects align with the nation-wide Scotland Loves Local campaign to encourage shopping locally, as well as offering support to local business owners to help enhance both the online and physical presence of their businesses.
Projects to date include:
- New Shopfront Improvement Scheme 2021/2022.
- Argyll and Bute Scotland Loves Local Gift Card.
- Bespoke ‘shop local’ messaging.
- Shopfront improvement grants 2020/2021.
- Enhanced digital presence training and photography initiatives.
