Argyll and Bute Council’s Business Gateway team helped 152 new start-up businesses last year, creating 173 jobs and a combined projected turnover of £6.06 million.
Young people across Scotland have received their exam results today and initial figures show that Argyll and Bute’s results are higher than the national average in National 5 A-D with Higher results in line with the national average.
The council’s Environmental Health team is working with colleagues in licensing and trading standards to track down, and remove, counterfeit bottles of Glen’s vodka which may have found their way to the local market.
Argyll and Bute Council has won the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) Gold Award, the highest honour for employers who demonstrate exceptional support for the Armed Forces Community.
