Have your say on Tarbert's future

Argyll and Bute Council is inviting residents of Tarbert to have their say on the future of the village as part of a consultation on the Tarbert Conservation Area Appraisal and Management Plan.

The draft document, produced during the development phase of the Tarbert Regeneration Scheme, aims to better understand the character of the village and identify its unique heritage. The goal is to create a character appraisal that safeguards and enhances Tarbert’s historic environment for generations to come.

The consultation gives the local community an opportunity to review the draft document and respond to a series of questions. Feedback will help shape the final version, ensuring it reflects the aspirations of residents while preserving the key buildings and spaces that make Tarbert special.

The consultation will is live on the Council website until 16 February 2026, and there will be a drop-in session on 14 January, between 10am and 6pm at Templar Arts and Leisure Centre, Tarbert.

Hard copies of the consultation will also be available at the Council’s office in Manse Brae, Lochgilphead, during these dates.

The Council’s Policy Lead for Business Development, Councillor Math Campbell-Sturgess, said: “This plan is about protecting what makes Tarbert unique while planning for its future. I would urge everyone to take part in the consultation—your views will help shape a document that reflects the community’s vision."
