Alongside National Qualifications, Argyll and Bute’s secondary schools offer a wide and ever-increasing range of opportunities for wider achievement. These opportunities develop skills for life and work, broaden young people’s range of experiences, and are recognised by employers and further and higher education establishments as valuable indicators of young people’s attributes and capabilities.
Councillor Kieron Green, Policy Lead for Education:
"Our pupils have worked incredibly hard to achieve these excellent levels of attainment and achievement. This success also reflects the dedication of our staff and support from the wider school community including from parents and carers. It's also encouraging to see our secondary schools offer additional opportunities alongside national qualifications to help develop skills for life and work.
Increasing attainment and ensuring that all young people achieve their potential, regardless of location, circumstance or potential barriers, is at the heart of the work of the Education Service.
“We remain committed to assisting schools in securing further improvements through a programme of challenge and support. Formal school reviews and analysis on attainment will help schools to deliver better exam outcomes and wider achievement for young people. Working together in partnerships will continue to drive ongoing future success.”
