Argyll and Bute Council continues to support businesses in dealing with the impact of Covid-19. To date the council has supported around four thousand businesses and has paid out over £38 million across all the Scottish Government grant schemes including the Strategic Framework Business Fund.
The council has a dedicated webpage with information and support for businesses including access to a range of grants. Please visit the website in the first place for details and to check you are eligible to apply.
You can also keep up date to date with new funds as they launch, by signing up to email alerts from https://findbusinesssupport.gov.scot/
Councillor Robin Currie, Leader of Argyll and Bute Council:
“We are working incredibly hard to help businesses access funding during these challenging times. To help safeguard livelihoods and recover the local economy, these grants are essential financial lifelines to so many of our communities. We continue to lobby Scottish Government to ensure all sectors have access to funding.
Our Business Support Teams are working round the clock to administer applications. There are new grants being announced and we would encourage businesses to keep checking the council’s website for updates.
Building for a better future is underway with major investment taking place across regeneration projects to help businesses, and attract further funding. Recovery is key to the ongoing success for the area.
There is no denying that these are difficult times but it is important to remember we will move on from this.”
Help for Businesses
Help and support for businesses can be found on the council’s website. Please check you are eligible to apply before contacting our teams.
If new funding is announced, we will invite applications once we have the criteria from the Scottish Government. For example the recent taxi fund announced on 18 January 2021. We are awaiting further information from the Scottish Government on how the scheme will operate and will contact drivers directly as soon as we are in a position to do so.
