The Afghan Resettlement Programme (ARP) brings together existing Afghan resettlement schemes.

The Afghan Resettlement Programme brings together 2 earlier schemes - 

The Afghan Relocations and Assistance Policy (ARAP) is for Afghan citizens who worked for or with the UK Government in Afghanistan in exposed or sensitive roles. 

The Afghan Citizens Resettlement Scheme (ACRS) is a referral-based scheme that prioritises vulnerable people and those who assisted UK efforts in Afghanistan. 

Afghans in Argyll and Bute are provided with MoD accommodation. 

Afghan arrivals have Indefinite Leave to Remain in the UK with full access to public funds.

Their transition to Argyll and Bute is supported by the Home Office, United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR), International Organisation for Migration (IOM), Council's Resettlement Team.
