Alcohol Authorisation

The Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005, Schedule 3, paragraph 5, requires that every sale of alcohol made on licensed premises must be authorised by the premises manager or another personal licence holder.  This authorisation can be general or specific.  In Argyll and Bute it is expected that the alcohol authorisation will be given in writing with the premises manager or other personal licence holder and staff signing the authorisation.

Attached below is a specimen alcohol authorisation which meets the criteria laid down by the Act.

There is no requirement for an alcohol authorisation in licensed clubs.
