Argyll and Bute Council need this information about your views to evidence that the transition between nursery and school provides the best experience to maintain a child’s progression in their learning, as well as for statistical and research purposes.

We need this information about your views to:
- plan and deliver better transition policies for the benefit of all children and young people
- share good practice
- target resources better
You do not have to respond to this survey. If you choose to take part in the survey any questions are answered at your discretion. This means that you can take part in the survey without the need to answer all questions. Personally identifiable information, such as names, should not be entered into free text fields.
Argyll and Bute Council will not publish or make publicly available any information that allows you to be identified, nor will data be used by Argyll and Bute Council to take any direct actions on you or your child/children as a result of this information.
The legal bases for collecting your information in these circumstances are:

You should also be aware that your data will be stored on servers located within the United Kingdom. We will take all reasonable steps to ensure that your data is kept securely and more information on how we do this is provided on the Council website (www.argyll-bute.gov.uk) or can be provided in paper format on request to your School Support 01369 704000.
Your data will be processed by a designated team. Any personal data will be anonymised once the dataset is extracted from SurveyMonkey.
How long will we keep your information?
We will keep the original dataset for no longer than a year after the survey close date, after this period it will be destroyed under secure arrangements if it is no longer required for the lawful purpose(s) for which it was obtained. We can hold anonymised data (data that does not identify an individual) for as long as it is required. More information on our retention schedule is provided on the Council website (www.argyll-bute.gov.uk) or can be provided in paper format on request to School Support 01369 704000.

Your Rights
When you provide information to the Council, you will have the following rights:
