Rhunahaorine Primary School is a small country school. The building is situated in a pleasant spot 1.5 miles north of the village of Tayinloan. Our playground is part tarmac and part grass – enough for a small football pitch. Part of the playground has been partitioned off to make a car park. There is a large garden shed for extra storage.
The large classroom houses the school library, a television and several computers. The pre-school group is held in the general-purpose room each morning. This also serves as the dining hall, and it us used for P.E., Music, Drama and Art in the afternoons. There is also a small staff-room/office, which sometimes serves as an extra room for visiting professionals such as the medical services and speech therapist. Meals are cooked in a large kitchen on the premises. Extra-curricular activities include a homework club and sports club. Pupils transfer to either Campbeltown Grammar School or Tarbert Academy to continue their education.
HM Inspectorate of Education (HMIE) inspects and reports on the quality of education in pre-school centres, primary schools, secondary schools, special schools, community learning and development services, colleges, and residential educational provision.
You can read and download any inspection reports for this school, and find out more about the inspection process, on the Education Scotland website.
