Modern Apprenticeships provide an alternative route into the world of work. They are mainly for young people aged 16 to 24 (29 if care experienced or disabled) from all backgrounds who have left school or college.
Modern Apprenticeships offer individuals the opportunity to earn while they learn, gaining valuable work experience and a recognised qualification all at the same time. Apprenticeships can take from one to four years to complete as they vary depending on the learning framework undertaken.
At Argyll and Bute Council, we’re proud to support the development of our future talent through a range of apprenticeship opportunities across departments and are determined by service need. Apprenticeships offered have included:
- Business Administration
- Digital Applications
- Social Services
- IT
- Horticulture
- Early Years
So, whether you're just leaving school / college or looking to start a new career path, a Modern Apprenticeship could be your gateway to a rewarding future within local government.
