What goes in your food waste bin

Your food bin is for all your cooked and uncooked food waste in Helensburgh and Lomond.

Your food waste bin is emptied every week

Please use the liners provided in your 7 litre kitchen caddy to collect your food waste before putting it and put the filled liners in your outdoor 23 litre food waste bin.

You can empty your kitchen caddy as often as needed.

For more liners tie an unused food waste liner to the handle of your outside food bin on your collection day, a new supply will be left inside the bin. Food waste liners can also be collected from Helensburgh and Lomond Civic Centre or any libraries in the area. Please use either the caddy liners provided by us when putting food into your food waste bin, or fully compostable carrier bags (some supermarkets such as the Co-op and Waitrose now provide these in their stores) can also be used
