The A815, which has been closed close to the junction with the A83, opens this morning (14 January) at 8.30am under traffic management. Delays should be expected.
Work to remove the large boulders from the hillside has been successfully completed. However, due to the remaining volume of debris, insufficient visibility overnight, and heavy rain forecast, the road will close again at 4.00pm.
The road will continue to re-open daily at 8.30am and close at 4.00pm until further notice. These arrangements remain weather dependent.
The diversion route (A83 Rest and Be Thankful, B828 Glenmhor Road, B839 Hells Glen road and the A815 Cairndow to Strachur / Dunoon) will remain in place. Vehicles over 7.5 tonnes are prohibited from using the diversion, and CCTV monitoring will be in operation.
