Privacy Notice for Contact Centre - Privacy Statement

A new data protection law was introduced on 25th May 2018. As a result, we've updated our Privacy Notice to make it easier for you to find out how we use, process and protect your information.

When contacting Argyll and Bute Council contact centre the Council will collect and process personal information of residents, staff and other individuals in order to deliver services to citizens and communities in Argyll and Bute.

Argyll and Bute Council is the Data Controller in relation to the processing of personal information in accordance with Data Protection law.  Please be advised that calls to the contact centre are recorded for training and auditing purposes and that these recordings are kept for a period of 12 months.

When we deal with the enquiry you contacted us about your information will be used to assist in resolving the matter and may be shared between Council services or with other agencies as necessary to do that.  The legal basis allowing us to process your data will vary depending upon your specific enquiry, but at this initial stage it will generally be that it is in the public interest to do so.

You can find out more about your rights and the Council’s responsibilities when handling your information and details of how to contact the Council’s Data Protection Officer by accessing the Privacy Notice from the Council’s website at www.argyll-bute.gov.uk or by requesting a copy from the adviser dealing with your contact.
