There will be some changes to bin collections in Argyll and Bute during the festive period.
Please check the council website for the changes and note that the new uplift date may be before the original planned date.
There will also be an advert in your local paper. If you have neighbours you think might be unaware of the changes, please let them know.
Recycling and civic amenity sites in the area will be closed on 25/26 December and 1/2 January.
There are things you can do to help increase the amount you recycle over this busy time.
As usual, you can place paper, card, cans and plastic bottles, tubs, pots and trays, and clean aluminium foil in your recycling bins or bags. Please remember to rinse out the cans and plastics first. More details on what you can recycle where you live can be found on our website.
Many types of Christmas paper and cards can be recycled. Unfortunately, anything covered in glitter or foil-based paper cannot go in your recycling bin. If you want to check if the paper is foil, scrunch the paper up. If it springs back, it is foil so please put it in the general waste bin.
Did you know, in the UK, wasted Christmas wrapping paper, if laid out, would stretch 238,855 miles?
