The National Child Protection Guidance 2023 provides an updated list of concern indicators to consider when placing a child’s name on the Child Protection Register. These are no longer referred to as “categories” and should be named as a “vulnerability factor” and “impact on/abuse of the child identified.”
A list of 21 indicators should be considered for each child within an Initial Child Protection Planning Meeting or Review Child Protection Planning Meeting.
All agencies and practitioners who attend these meetings should be aware of the language change and have an understanding of what each factor means.
Content
Join us for short online information sessions to explore the recent changes to our child protection registration processes and the use of the new indicators. Kate Robertson CARO will provide an opportunity to discuss the change of language, the range of vulnerability factors which should now be considered and how children and families are supported through the CP assessment process and meetings.
