Our Modern Workspace

As part of a whole council review, the “Our Modern Workspace” is looking arrangements for how we all work together long term.

As part of a whole council review, the “Our Modern Workspace” is looking arrangements for how we all work together long term, this time through choice and not necessity.  The project is looking at: -

  • how we use this opportunity to create ways of working and workspaces that support and enhance employee wellbeing and
  • how many of us who have been able to work from home would like to return to the office on a full time basis; would like to work from home on a full time basis; and how many would like a blend of both.

We don’t know yet what the end designs will look like because we want to hear from you and incorporate your views into that design process.

We’ve been asked about how things might work. Examples of what we see working well in other organisations include touchdown zones, more hot desks, more break out areas for collaborative discussion and thinking, a variety of private spaces and meeting rooms, and fewer permanent offices and assigned desks.

Key to all of this though is knowing what has worked well or less well for you while you have been working from home.

We want to find the best possible working environment for our workforce and to help you find a great work life balance.
