By-Election Ward 2 - 18th July 2024

Due to a vacancy arising by the sad passing of Councillor Robin Currie, a by-election is to be held to elect one councillor to the Kintyre and the Islands multi-member Ward of Argyll and Bute.

The Returning Officer has determined that polling should take place on Thursday 18 July 2024

The Kintyre and the Islands Ward includes the areas surrounding Carradale to Kilberry including the Islands of Islay, Jura, Colonsay and Gigha, and has an electorate of just under 6,000 people.

Nominations from prospective candidates were invited from Monday 10 June to Monday 17 June 2024. The Notice of Election, Timetable and Nomination Pack can be found using the links below.

The closing date for nominations was Monday 17 June 2024 at 4.00pm.
