Update 24 June 2026
The council is to ask for views on the proposal for the final part of the multi million-pound development of Helensburgh waterfront.
A public consultation will start on Monday 29th June.
Update - January 2026
In November 2025, the Court of Session dismissed a petition raised by the Community Council challenging the decision of the Council’s Policy and Resources Committee on 15 August 2024 to select a preferred developer for the commercial area. You can read the full press release.
The council is now re-engaging with the preferred developer, Forrest Developments Ltd, to enter final negotiations. The provisionally agreed terms will then be the subject of a report to a future Policy and Resources Committee seeking approval to instruct solicitors to conclude the transaction. A planning application will also be submitted in due course, and members of the public will have the opportunity to submit comments.
