Place Standard Tool

What is the Place Standard Tool?

The Place Standard is a simple tool to consider the qualities of a place. It helps people to think about both the physical and social aspects of places, and the important relationship between them.

Find out more about the Place Standard Tool and how it works in our Place Standard Tool guidance

The engagement period will close on 13th April 2026.

Please note: Please don't include any personal information (e.g. name, full address, email address, personal circumstances) in any of your answers to the Place Standard Tool itself. We will ask some optional questions about yourself at the end of the survey.

We are asking for response for settlements across the whole of Argyll and Bute except those within the National Park area, this is because Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park Authority is responsible for the Local Development Plan in the National Park. You can find a map showing the parts of Argyll and Bute in the National Park here.

Place

You can fill out a separate survey for as many places as you wish, these could be the place you live, the place you work or like to visit.

To find a settlement simply start entering the name into the box and the list will refine itself as you continue to type. Just click or tap on the name once you can see it in the list.
Please answer the following about your experience using this website, not about the service you received from the organisation
