The Chair welcomed Councillor McKenzie, on behalf of the Committee to her first meeting of the Area Committee since being elected.

There were no declarations of interest intimated.

A report updating the Committee on the progress in delivering the Lorn Arc Tax Incremental Financing Programme and its nine capital infrastructure investment projects led by Development and Infrastructure Services, was considered.

Decision

The Committee:-

1.    Noted the current progress with the Lorn Arc Programme; and

2.    Noted the recommendations to the Policy and Resources Committee.

The Committee determined to consider the report contained at item 3(b) on the agenda in public session but to exclude the public for consideration of the appendices.

The Committee considered a report that updates the Policy and Resources Committee on the progress in delivering the Lorn Arc Tax Incremental Financing Programme and its nine capital infrastructure investments projects led by Development and Infrastructure Services.  The report also reiterates the need for the Lorn Arc and reports on key issues that will impact on the successful delivery of the projects from design development stage through to procurement and implementation.

Decision

The Committee noted the recommendations at 3.1 of the report.

The Council resolved in terms of Section 50(A)(4) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 to exclude the press and public for the following item of business on the grounds that it was likely to involve the disclosure of exempt information as defined in Paragraphs 8&9 respectively of Part 1 of Schedule 7A to the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973.

The Committee considered the appendices to the Report referred to above.

Decision

The Committee noted the information provided.

E1       Paragraph 9  Any terms proposed or to be proposed by or to the authority in the course of negotiations for a contract for the acquisition or disposal of property or the supply of goods or services.
